Summery

A dedicated but Struggling Artist since Youth. Over the years has held a series of Small One Man Local Exhibitions during the 1990s and isolated ones since then: Sold some work over the years and undertaken a few small commissions. Although experiencing many rejections and never achieved  sustained professional success, he has undertaken a variety of occupations to earn a living, thus self financing his artistic endeavor. He is currently a Self Employed/Freelance Guitar Teacher  and has an On-line Galleries for viewing

Art Methods

John Has experimented with many styles and mediums over the years. Oils, Acrylics, Gouache, Pen and Ink and is currently exploring the economy of creating art using colored pens and pencils on A4 paper and card. His subject matter has included Landscapes, Portraits, Surrealism, Old Master Copies, Abstract, Psychedelic and Naive. His influences are Vincent VanGogh, Bob Ross, Kathy Henderson Green, Phil Absolon and Samuel Palmer


History

Began artistic career during the “Hippy Era” as an Art Student studying Graphics: Dropped out after 2 years of art education and missed out on the opportunity for a career in Art: For the next 22 years worked as a Gardener and Handyman, Tyre Fitter, Milkman, Farm Laborer, Postman, Tool Hire Mechanic/Clerk. Then in 1992 an opportunity came along and a publicity designer position became available at a Community Arts center for which he was accepted. The Arts Center sadly closed down 2 years later. Since then John is actively seeking to establish himself as a recognized artist.
